Judging from the contents of the Trans-Pacific-Partnership (TPP) agreement revealed thus far, China still has a long way to go to fulfil the requirements laid down by TPP. Anbound"s chief researcher, Chen Gong says it is highly unlikely that China will join TPP in the short term and this might last for 10 years. The imminent task for China is to accelerate and deepen its market-oriented reform and lift its own market of 1.4 billion populations. Once backed up by its reform and market, it is no longer a question on "joining" TPP, but rather it is a question on being “invited” to join TPP.
