Many people believe that urbanization speed should slow down once China"s urbanization level is above 50%. ANBOUND’s chief researcher Chen Gong also agrees and even advocated it two years ago whereby 50% urbanization rate is a warning of social unrest and consists of two risk factors namely urbanization speed and urbanization rate. The government should pay more attention on how to solve the problems of urban system rather than the speed in order to raise the urbanization rate above 50%.
