最早消息，由路透社报道谷歌中断和华为的合作，暂停了华为对Google Play服务（GMS）和Play商店的访问。后续也有英特尔等公司停止与华为的合作。
谷歌第一时间做出了回应：我们正在遵守这一命令，并审查其影响。而且Android的官方推特则表示，对于华为用户，我们能够保证在遵守美国政府要求的同时，保证在现有的华为设备上继续支持诸如Google Play以及通过Google Play Protect提供的安全服务。
